Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad del Pacífico and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
from the same university. Master of Business Administrative from the University of Miami in Florida.
He completed the Management Development Program at Harvard Business School. He worked at Buenaventura
from 1990 to 1997, where he held the position of Treasury Head. He also worked at Sociedad Minera El Brocal as
Finance Manager up until 2000. He was General Manager of Boticas BTL until 2005, and General Manager of
Boticas Inkafarma until June 2011. He rejoined Buenaventura as Controller General in July 2011, then held the
position of CFO until August 2020.
He has been a Director of Química Suiza Retail, the business that manages the Mi Farma pharmacy chain, since
January 2016 until January 2018. CEO of Consorcio Energético de Huancavelica and Director of Sociedad Minera El
Brocal, Compañía Minera Condesa y Empresa de Generación Huanza
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru in 1992. He also holds
a Master’s Degree in Engineering, with a focus on Mineral Engineering Management, from Pennsylvania State
University. Prior to assuming his new role at Buenaventura, Mr. Ortiz was the Technical Services Manager at
Volcan Compañia Minera, a polymetallic mining company and one of the largest zinc, lead and silver producers
in the world, where he was responsible for the departments of Engineering, Projects, Planning and
Environmental Matters as well as for Volcan’s Alpamarca and Cerro de Pasco operations.
Prior to this post, he was Chief Operations Officer at Compañía Minera Milpo (now part of the Nexa Resources
Group), where he was responsible for the Cerro Lindo, Atacocha and El Porvenir operations.
Mechanical Engineer graduated from the University of Maryland, with a Master’s in Engineering from the same
university and a Master’s in Administrative from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC).
He previously worked as Development Manager of the Peruvian Confederation of Private Business Institutions
(CONFIEP) and has worked at Buenaventura since 2003, where he has held the position of Community Relations
Manager, from 2008 to 2011; and Deputy Manager of Administration and Human Resources, from 2003 to
2008. In 2011, he graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School (AMP)
Bachelor´s Degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico and Master in Business Administration from the
same university. He has successfully completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School
in 2015 and the Corporate Finance Program at London Business School in 2010.
He joined Buenaventura 20 years ago starting his career at INMINSUR (former subsidiary company) as Head of
Treasury. Later he was transferred to Buenaventura where he held various positions, such as Head of Treasury,
from 2003 to 2012; Director of Treasury and Financial Planning, from 2012 to 2015; Manager of Financial
Planning and Investor Relations, from 2016 to 2017; and Logistics Manager, from 2017 to 2020.
Business Administrator from Universidad de Lima and MBA from the Universidad del Pacífico. He has more than
25 years of experience in the mining sector. He worked at Southern Copper Corporation (Grupo México) as
Corporate Commercial Director for Peru, Mexico, the United States and Spain.
Renzo Macher is a Civil Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP) with a Master’s Degree in
Construction Engineering and Project Management from University of Berkeley, California. He completed the
Management Development Program at the University of Piura.
His career in Buenaventura began in 2013 as Manager of Tambomayo Project, which started operations in 2016.
Since then to date he has been in charge of Project Innovation and Development departments.
Economic geologist with over twenty years of experience in Greenfields and Brownfields exploration, Evaluation
of mining projects in Latin America, and Underground mine geology. Expertise in Low & High Sulfidation
Epithermal Deposits and Carbonate Hosted Deposits (CRD & Skarn).
He has worked throughout Peru and involved in the assessment of various projects in Chile, Colombia Mexico
and Argentina.
